Description
Fluorescent pigments have vivid, high-contrast color in the daytime. The fluorescence effect makes these pigments perfectly visible in the dark when illuminated by UV light. Unlike dyes, pigments form a suspension in the carrier so they will not give a transparent effect. The very fine grain of the pigment allows it to be easily mixed with mediums.
Fluorescent pigments should not be confused with luminescent pigments. Fluorescent pigments glow in the dark as long as they are illuminated by UV light - when the illumination stops they stop glowing immediately. Luminescent pigments glow in the dark up to several hours after being pre-charged with light.
The pigment works well with resins and most common solvents - however, some solvents (or mixtures of solvents) can damage its structure - so it's a good idea to conduct a performance test when using a new medium.
Fluorescent pigments are a popular additive for paints(water-based and solvent-based), lacquers, plastics, resins, rubber, screen printing and other mediums.
Blue fluorescent pigment is the least contrasting of the available colors in our range. While its color in the daytime is very visible, in UV light it no longer gives such a strong effect. Therefore, if you primarily care about high visibility under UV light, you should consider choosing a different color.
