Description
Direct blue 86 is an efficient dye for water and water-based bases. It is mainly used for dyeing fabrics, paper, leather, and as a dye for water-based inks and paints.
It can also be used as a substitute for fluorescein for leak detection when a different color is needed - in this case, however, it should be noted that direct blue 86 can permanently stain concrete, plaster, and other porous materials, which can make cleaning difficult after the job is done. Unlike fluorescein, this dye is not fluorescent, which means that leak detection is only possible in normal light (no reaction to UV).
