Fluorescein 200% sodium salt

Fluorescein sodium salt (also known as uranine or acid yellow 73) is a very efficient dye featuring selective, yellow-green colour (orange in higher concentration) and fluorescence (dye is very visible in UV light). Second photo shows colour of strongly diluted solution. This dye has strongest available 200% concentration.

Very common use of this product is detection of leaks (tracing dye) - from small engine cooling systems up to large district heating systems. In those situations recommended concentration of fluorescein solution is 10g/m³ of water - so 0,01g/L (1:100 000 dilution). Thanks to such small concentration this dye is very economical choice. Due to chemical inactivity and very small concentrations  this dye is safe for cooling or heating systems.

Fluorescein sodium salt contrary to pure fluorescein is very well soluble in water.

Other applications of this compound: colouring fabrics (wool, silk, nylon, modified acrylic fibers - this dye is not valid for colouring celulose fibers) and household chemicals.

This dye is not classified as harmful to human body or environment.
